Since the beginning, we’ve been spreading environmentally friendly messages worldwide like the iconic statements on the ‘70s hang tags «Keep this Land Beautiful» or «Destroy the waves, not the beaches» on garments in the late ‘80s.

Our production is constantly upgraded and made in Portugal. The company prides itself on sourcing premium product for the conscious consumer that emphasizes quality, style and utility as well as supporting local manufacturing. We are cautious and selective in the choice of sustainable materials (organic cotton, recycled polyester) and of our suppliers.
Lightning Bolt belongs to the 80-year-old major Portuguese textile group - TMG Group – that has been quality oriented since the beginning. As early as 1992, TMG was certified under standards EN ISO 9000 and all companies of the group launched their registration process. We are proud to be one of the leading textile companies to become certified under quality processes and management systems to meet international standards - EN ISO 9001, ISO 14001, NP 4397, OHSAS 18000, GOTS and OKÖ-TEX specifications.

Made in Portugal is a symbol of quality & reliability and it also means the product was made in an environment that is socially and ecologically responsible. The country has long been known for its manufacturing tradition. A new generation of manufacturers has kept the heritage and know-how while focusing on high quality and modern innovation fully certified under the environmental framework of European standards.
By supporting local manufacturing, we also contribute to the reduction of the impact of carbon emissions from long distance transports.
INTO A GREENER FUTURE
As new developments, we are working closely in collaboration with initiatives that believe in a waste free environment. In a very near future all garments will be made of sustainable materials, such as organic cotton and recycled textiles.
The organic cotton is produced and certified to organic agricultural standards, sustaining the health of soils, ecosystems and people by using natural processes and not allowing the use of toxic chemicals or GMOs (genetically modified organisms). It combines tradition, innovation and science to benefit the shared environment and promote a good quality of life for all involved. Also, by choosing recycled polyester made from certified and traceable «upcycled marine plastic», we’re able to deliver the same performance in fibers with a smaller environmental footprint.
