LIGHTNING BOLT SALINAS FESTIVAL

We’re thrilled to announce that Lightning Bolt will participate and sponsor the 20th edition of the Salinas International Longboard Festival, which will take place in the seaside town of Salinas, Asturias, Spain.
The Salinas International Longboard Festival is the biggest event and competition dedicated to Longboards in Europe and is one of the top three in the world. This year, more than 50.000 people will attend the festival, between 27 and 31 of July.
Lightning Bolt will sponsor the 5 days of the event and promote the following actions:
- Championship with retro surfboards (single or twin fins)
- Live Shape - manufacture of a Lightning Bolt Classic Longboard, which will be awarded as a prize to the winner of the International Longboard Championship.
- Expression Session - the 4 surfers with the best qualifications of the Lightning Bolt Championship will be invited to surf with boards provided by Lightning Bolt. In a heat with a total duration of 30 minutes, the 4 athletes will compete against each other. The winner will win the surfboard he surfed!
- Surfboards Exhibition
- Shop with apparel and merchandising
- Photobooth
Salinas International Longboard Festival will host three different championships:
· National (Spanish) Longboard Championship – for the fifth time the Spanish Surf Federation chose Salinas to host the National Championship.
· International Longboard Championship – with the best longboard surfers in the world.
· Lightning Bolt Championship – only retro, single and twin fin surfboards.
The word “Festival” is the key because even though surfing competitions are held, the event offers all types of activities: live shaping, workshops, live performances, concerts, food trucks, talks, open-air cinema and more.

Lightning Bolt Championship
Lightning Bolt Championship will be held at the mythical Salinas Beach. Only retro surfboards, single fin or twin fin will be allowed.
The podiums of each category will receive a symbolic prize, a kit with Lightning Bolt products and vouchers, as well as the unique opportunity of winning a Lightning Bolt surfboard (through out the immediate classification to Lightning Bolt Expression Session).
Expression Session
The four surfers with the best qualifications on the Lightning Bolt Championship will be invited to surf with boards provided by Lightning Bolt.
In a heat with a total duration of 30 minutes, the 4 athletes will compete against each other.
The winner will take the surfboard which he surfed!

During the 5 days of the event, a Lightning Bolt Classic Longboard (resin tint, matte finish) will be live shaped and finished by Vitor Spottt and Marco Miguel - official shaper and glasser of Lightning Bolt. An extraordinary moment to understand how the unique and authentic Lightning Bolt surfboards are created. An opportunity to testimony a fusion between the concepts of legacy and future.
This surfboard will be awarded as prize to the winner of the International Longboard Championship.
